County Employees Assn Votes to Delete No-Strike Clause

County Employees Association directors and council members voted overwhelmingly to rescind the no-strike clause from the by laws amid a salary dispute with the county administration. They also agreed to seek an attorney opinion on possible court action over 1971-72 salary recommendations and to pursue data from Administrative Officer Raymond Johnson for negotiations.

Directors Debate Plan for Santa Ynez Valley Water Project

County Planning Commission member Boyd Bettencourt urged hearing from valley district directors before voting on a new water and sewer plan for Santa Ynez Valley and the South Coast. The plan would route Santa Ynez sewage to Solvang at an estimated 700000 dollars, with Buellton Solvang and Cachuma districts involved and gradual population growth projected to 16000 by 2000.

Nixon to tour New York Springfield and Dallas trip

President Nixon plans a three day travel swing starting Tuesday to New York Springfield and Dallas ending at his San Clemente home. The Springfield stop includes a bill signing to turn Abraham Lincoln's home into a national historic site and he will address the Knights of Columbus in New York.
