Trustees limited open campus access for entering freshmen starting fall term and plan to expand next year to include more students while keeping lunch hour open. The board also approved a $1,650,689 general fund budget with a 19.26 cent district tax drop, at a public hearing attended by four community members.
Los Olivos Improvement Assn creates a five member interim architectural review board to screen new commercial structures. The group narrowly approved D zoning discussion and will revisit the topic at a later meeting. Architect Bob Whitmore chairs the panel with Jim Newton John Brigham Dan Watson and Robert P Stephens Jr named.
Buellton Community Services District directors adopted a resolution urging the State Department of Health to issue an amended permit that would lift restrictions on Well No 3. The change could allow the well to be a regular water supply, aid expansion, and remove limits on new connections with conditions including a timetable for improvements and manganese removal facilities at Wells 3 and 5. The district plans immediate minor upgrades and a $150,000 cost proposal, and will meet to discuss state requirements and project scheduling. The board also set next year’s tax rate at $1.09 per $100 and will adopt a general fund budget of $277,850 on Aug 18.
