California doctors receive over 100000 in Medi-Cal reimbursements
Nearly 300 physicians and medical groups in California drew more than $100,000 each in Medi-Cal reimbursements for care to low income patients last year. Southeast Medical Center in Huntington Park led with $1,068,169. CMA notes high overhead and low fees distort true picture as more doctors refuse Medi-Cal. The state plans about $2.4 billion for Medi-Cal this year, up $400 million from 1974-75.
