Firefighters battled a 4000 plus acre wildfire sparked by lightning on the Morongo Indian Reservation in California. About 1700 troops from as far as Wyoming worked in rugged terrain before full containment and expected quieting. Thunderstorms, power outages hit Connecticut, Northeast
Thunderstorms knocked out power for nearly 30,000 Connecticut families as heavy rains and strong winds damaged lines and transformers.
