Moscone lauds San Francisco election defeat of term limiting measures

In San Francisco Mayor George Moscone hailed the defeat of Proposition B to force an early election and Proposition A to end at large supervisor elections. Voter turnout was over 53 percent as Prop T already approved last November takes effect this fall. Prop B would have created 11 district seats with citywide voting and required majority for office. Prop A would return to at large elections. Freitas backed district representation and called the results a repudiation of disruption. Barbagelata accused the city’s political machine after losing Prop B and vowed to resign if it passed.
