The annual mussel quarantine runs May 1 through October 31 issued by State Director of Public Health Frederick B Hodges M D. Signs along the coast warn the public not to gather mussels except for bait and to clean and discard dark meat parts before cooking.

Barbara Farrell and others. Total income for the year topped $64,000 with Christmas Seal contributions around $62,000.
