Thirteenth Annual Santa Barbara Summer Music Camp Plans
Camp director Jack Lundy announced registration for two sessions of the Santa Barbara County Summer Music Camp. Sessions run June 10 16 and June 17 23 at Camp Cielo near Lake Cachuma with over 250 attendees last year. Fees are 45 dollars per camper weekly with a 10 dollar deposit due by May 20 and refundable through May 31.

Supreme Court backs damages claim by developers Bourgerie and Glenn
The California State Supreme Court ruled that developers Bourgerie and Glenn may seek damages when a construction project violates deed restrictions on eminent domain land. The decision reverses a lower court, allowing damages from Edison’s nearby substation built after local protests. The 5.9 acre Summerland parcel lies north of U.S. 101 and was restricted against an electric transmission site.

Aid Offered for Goleta Valley Study Cooperation
County official reports the California Council on Intergovernmental Relations plans to assist the Goleta Valley Study on public service alternatives. Bivouac Ends for CAP Cadets on Mountain Survival Exercise
Seven CAP cadets from Vandenberg AFB Sq 101 joined four cadets from Santa Maria Sq 105 for a two day bivouac in Los Padres National Forest east of Santa Maria. They practiced survival skills, mountain navigation, and edible vegetation gathering under the supervision of senior members Dennis Lopez and Chris Chrones.
