California to switch schools to metric system in 1976

County appoints Greene as petroleum administrator

Joseph P. Greene of the State Division of Oil and Gas is slated for confirmation by the Board of Supervisors as the county petroleum administrator. He reports May 14 to the Santa Maria headquarters with a starting salary of 696 biweekly, two steps above the standard due to his 17 years in oil field operations.
