In California a 21 year old San Francisco man pulled a highway stop ruse on Highway 101 near Gilroy to alert officers about a gun and four occupants. Police then arrested 24 year old Grant Richard Powell for a shooting of a San Francisco officer and carjacking Grima. Officer Jay Rogovoy remained hospitalized after gunshot wounds to the neck, abdomen and hand. The investigation noted no immediate link between Judge Bernard Glickfelds rape case and the shooting.
