Miz Carpetlady takes over MR. CARPETMAN at 127 North V
New owners Jim and Frances Spanne operate the store previously owned by MR. CARPETMAN. Fran managed the shop for the former owner. The firm offers carpeting, drapes, wallcoverings, hard surface flooring and decorating with three employees and free interior decorating with purchases. Plans include moving to larger premises by 1975 and adding ceramic, lighting and decorator items. Store hours 9:30 to 5:30 Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and 9:30 to 8 Friday and Sunday.

Opening day kickoffs fun fair for Vandenberg Village Little League
Saturday features a 9 am parade from Burton Mesa led by Cabrillo High marching band to the park for opening ceremonies at 11 am. Glen Newcomb directs the national anthem and prayers as all three fields host games. A barbecue by Ike Simmons and Al Driesbach supports Lompoc Flower Festival Queen candidate Karen Duffan.
