The start of construction for a $2 million high school complex in Santa Ynez Valley is delayed after the Farmers Home Administration reported missing materials. Senior citizens plan trip to south county
Senior citizens of the Santa Ynez Valley plan a no charge bus outing next Wednesday to Carpinteria and Santa Barbara. The group leaves from the Santa Ynez Senior Center at 9 30 am aboard a Midland School bus and may visit Sambo s and the beach if weather permits. Signups are first come, first served with a small voluntary contribution accepted.

Dick Miller Named to SYCSD Board Seat
Dick Miller a relatively new Santa Ynez resident with prior water district experience was chosen by the Santa Ynez Community Services District board to fill the vacant seat left by Ed Cordero. Cordero moved to Santa Ynez earlier this year and previously served eight years on the Mission Hills Water District board, including roles as president and vice president. The board noted an amended Sanitary system contract from the state totaling 83 000 dollars, up from 21 250 dollars due to extensive engineering work. The panel also revisited a proposed joint powers agreement with the Solvang Municipal Improvement District and adopted a conflict of interest code to be sent to the county board of supervisors. A May 5 special meeting was scheduled.

4 H quilt show brings Santa Ynez clubs together
The third annual 4 H quilt show runs Saturday 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday 10 am to 5 pm at the Veterans Memorial Building Solvang with Santa Ynez Buellton Lucky Clover and Solvang clubs. Admission 1 proceeds fund Citizenship Short Course in Washington DC. About 200 quilts on display plus sales and door prize a king sized quilt.
