Prosecution rests in Army mutiny trial at Fort Ord

The UPI report notes the prosecution rested its case in the mutiny trial of 14 Army prisoners after a 10 minute video of their Oct 14 stockade sit down at the San Francisco Presidio Stockade. Defense counsel Terence Hallinan planned to present his case next.

Calif petition seeks legislative probe of campus unrest

Sacramento UPI Ronald Reagan received about 260000 signatures from Californians demanding a legislative investigation into campus disturbances. Organizers Mildred Garrison and Donald Randall said the effort, backed by 700 volunteers, appeals to the silent majority opposed to disruption at the University of California and state colleges. Reagan praised the petitions and said the administration is already reviewing campus unrest per a House request.

Governor Calls for Stanford Protesters to Leave Laborator

Day in Sacramento reports Governor urges removal of militants occupying a Stanford University laboratory. At a separate news conference he criticized Nixon administration appeasement policies as he commented on the U S Navy plane shot down by North Korea.

Central Coast art teachers show at Hancock College

Seventeen area art instructors display works in Hancock College’s annual show in the fine arts building. Featured artists include Mike Monahan, a former Lompoc Junior High teacher and current Hancock faculty member, with three dimensional forms and various media. The exhibit runs school days 9 to 5, evenings 7 to 9, Sundays 2 to 4. admission is free.
