Big day of decisions set for Water Agency
The County Water Agency plans an all day meeting on Tuesday April 22 in the Administration Building Santa Barbara. Board of Supervisors directors will hear Water Consultant Robert M Edmonston and review the State Water Project progress along with local needs for north and south county areas tied to the Feather River Project. An afternoon session features the U S Army Corps of Engineers on the Santa Ynez River flood plain study and a year by year USGS program. Flood Control Engineer James Stubbner notes the first report covers the river from three miles west of Buellton to Cachuma Dam with a 2 p m presentation in the Board of Supervisors hearing room. Supervisor Curtis Tunnell chairs the meeting.

Obituary John A Page 1890 1970 Lompoc resident dies of cancer
John Alward Page 78 died Wednesday afternoon of cancer at Santa Ynez Valley Hospital. Funeral services set for 11 a.m. tomorrow at Lompoc LDS chapel with interment at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. He was born August 9 1890 in Decatur Nebraska and married Adellia Leslie in 1934 in Winn er S A. Survived by his widow five children a sister and eight grandchildren. He belonged to the First Christian Church and lived in Lompoc for three years.

Opening seen soon for Kenneth Adam County Park
The 60-acre Kenneth Adam County Park north of Lompoc is expected to open within a month. County Park Commission member Ray Stalker reports that recreation facilities including swings a merry go round horseshoe pits and volleyball courts are completed. Paving restrooms and wood chip covered walking trails are in place. The park will feature a barbecue area for about 100 people and twelve individual barbecue tables and pits for family use.

Daily records note five surf boards worth 75 dollars stolen yesterday from a war surplus amphibious vehicle parked near 4044 Capella Way, Capella area.
