Simplified Sewing Project Completed in Santa Barbara County
Mrs Hazel Martin led the University of California Extension Service program in Santa Barbara County where about 100 Lompoc residents finished a two month sewing course on April 3. Two blouses and one skirt were completed and new time saving sewing principles were taught by project leaders including Vernon Moss, Gilbert Martin, Samuel Gillespie, Joe Sousa, Jasper Wygal, John Kuhn, F. E. Fritts, Charles Bodger, Ruth Lepczyk, and Louie Guerra.

Grangers Celebrate Fifth Grange Anniversary Dedication
A large Grange group celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Grange Hall dedication on Saturday evening. Lawrence Howerton played organ music as the hall featured spring flowers and sweet peas. Verna Campbell gave a resume of Grange activity over the past five years, and Estella Fraters baked a decorated cake. A regular Grange meeting was announced for Friday, April 13, with Home Ec to meet Thursday, April 19.

Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Domingos of 301 South E street prepare a six month journey to the Azores and Portugal to visit Mr. Domingos family. They depart April 14 by train to New York and sail on the Roma for the Atlantic crossing. It is Mrs. Domingos first overseas trip and reunites Mr. Domingos with kin after seventeen years. They also plan a stop in Spain before returning to Lompoc.
