Property value drop tied to water conservation rules on South Coast
South Coast counties face about 8 million dollar loss in assessed valuations for 1973-74 due to water moratoriums and Proposition 20. The hit translates to roughly 124 thousand dollars in property tax revenue, about two cents on the county levy, with Goleta Valley and Montecito most affected. Some officials see the tax impact small against water savings, while reassessment delays limit early valuation changes.

Lompoc Council Revises Zoning Plan With Rezoning Shifts
Planning Commissioner Vern Copeland endorses a zoning ordinance as a worthwhile tool facing a May floor vote. Autry's rezoning list largely approved, with two 10 acre parcels removed due to flood and flight path constraints.
