Opposition to law seminar plans faces County Board vote

Right wing groups may block Board of Supervisors from approving a contract for a law seminar attended by law enforcement officials and students. A $52,500 federal grant would back the project, with final county approval sought. Sheriff John W. Carpenter and county officials had previously delayed action due to objections raised by the County Tax-Action Committee leader Mrs. Troy Saunders of Santa Barbara.

George F. Bishop 77 died yesterday at Lompoc District Hospital. Services Monday 10 am at McPeek Family Mortuary chapel officiated by Rev. Kenneth Boyd. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
