In fierce night attacks and shellings, North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces hit 115 Allied posts and 14+ positions, killing and wounding dozens. Former IRS officer indicted in Beverly Hills kidnapping case

Ronald Lee Miller, 38, a former Internal Revenue Service agent, was indicted by a grand jury for the abduction of Kenneth Young, son of Herbert J. Young, after the statute of limitations neared in the 1967 Beverly Hills case. The ransom of 250000 dollars, paid by Young’s father, remains unrecovered.

Dowdy Indicted for Accepting 25000 From Maryland Developer

Ten term Congressman John Dowdy of East Texas was indicted on two conspiracy counts one count of using interstate facilities to promote bribery and five counts of perjury for allegedly taking 25000 from Maryland home improvement developer Nathan H. Cohen and lying to a federal grand jury. Also named is Marvin C. Clark who faced earlier mail fraud charges. Dowdy denies guilt and cites possible political enemies.
