Runaway Hawkins Meat Market Horse Performs Dramatic Gaffe
A frightened delivery horse from Hawkins meat market bolted down Broadway in Logansport this morning. The animal struck a bicycle, toppled a wagon, and even somersaulted into a wagon bed before continuing at speed. Bystanders halted other horses and no serious injuries were reported. The horse sustained only a damaged eye.

Richardson Farm Sale Fraud Case Ends Quietly
Constable Stanley brought Alfred W. Richardson to town from Portland after he allegedly defrauded real estate dealer S. M. Kistler of a $100 commission on a farm sale. The farm, later found to belong to Richardson's wife, triggered his flight to Portland. Judge Hanawalt held a night session, Richardson's brother paid the $100 and court costs, and the case was dismissed.

Bowman Killed by Engine at Effner State Line
Frank C. Bowman 25, of 1408 Wright street, was killed instantly when his foot caught in a frog and a local engine struck him near Effner on the state line. Edward Bebee was arrested after firing a revolver several times at a house on Berkley Street near Erie Avenue. He claimed to target a woman he believed hid his wife inside the residence.
