Flora resident George Greider a car dealer vanished from home last Wednesday after driving to the city and leaving his car at a garage where an employee saw someone take the vehicle the next evening. He reportedly carried about $100 in cash and a $700 check. Neighbors later brought the car home and said he had planned to go to Chicago to buy another car.
Judge Paulus of the Grant circuit court overruled the motion for a new trial in the civil action of James W. Ball administrator of Ernest C. Reddinger estate against the city of Logansport and the Home Telephone company. Reddinger was electrocuted in Logansport two years ago. A jury awarded $8,000 in damages. case venued from Cass circuit court.

Clemmens Wolfe and Emma Beckman wed Tuesday in the Catholic church at Winamac. Attendants were Dave Courtney and Kate Wolfe of this city. Groom resides here. Out of town guests included Henry Wolf, Art Wolf and wives, and Matt Beckman and family of Fort Wayne.
Joseph Finnegan, once a day clerk at the New Murdock hotel, has accepted a job with the Central States Theatre company based in Chicago. His transfer marks a move from hotel work to the performing arts industry in a midwestern organization.
Remains of Frank C. Bauman, Panhandle brakeman, killed yesterday when struck by an engine arrived in the city last night. He was prepared for burial at Kroeger and Winquist parlors, with details noting his foot caught in a frog and his body mangled. Funeral set for Monday at 9 AM at Paul Church, Rev Crosson officiating, burial in Mt. St. Vincent.
The Phi Delta Kappa fraternity closed its convention at Peru with a ball. Fort Wayne was chosen as the next meeting place. A horse driven by Herbert and Arthur Marsh local insurance agents on the Michigan road north of town was frightened by an automobile and plunged down an embankment turning the buggy over. Both occupants escaped with slight injuries.
Thurman Gray of Winamac misplaced his purse containing 51 dollars on a Chicago to travel car. He checked the smoker and believed the purse left behind. An Italian woman seated opposite was detained by Detective Strahle pending search, but the purse was not found.
The county announces the opening of the squirrel hunting season and issues 26 licenses through County Clerk Edward Hawker. The season runs until September 31.
A small blaze began in the rear of the Killian and McCloskey morgue on Third Street this morning. Firecrackers set by several youths caused light damage with no injuries reported.
The new playground at Race and Sixth streets nears completion and will open July 4 by Mayor D. D. Fickle. The facility serves all ages with separate times for younger children and older youths, with alternating days for older girls and boys and strict supervision.
Harry A. Searight, a railway mail clerk, moves his family to a Curveton area farm for the summer as per their vacation custom. In addition, B G. McCloskey, Herbert Dunn, Bert Castle, John Bradfield, Rodney Troutman and their families depart today for an outing along the Tippecanoe river at Oakdale near Monticello, planning a two week stay in cottages.
Nelson D. Fisher, once a local resident on Helm street with his wife and two children, is named as defendant in a Hamilton circuit court divorce by Bertha Hazeltine of Cincinnati who says they wed in Michigan about a year ago. Fisher, described as well known locally, has admitted acquaintance with Hazeltine and is said to be living in Kentucky. Friends here doubt the plaintiff’s story.
Dr. Harry Has Sent Circulars to Logansport Grocers and Farmers Warning Against Selling Decomposed Produce under the Pure Food Law. The notice, addressed to farmers gardeners and hucksters, cites section 2 and urges enforcement by health officers and state inspectors.
