The National Mediation Board seeks a settlement between carriers and three operating unions as talks resume with both sides showing a sincere disposition to find common ground. The wage dispute centers on unions demanding 30 percent pay increases plus a $3 daily minimum and rule changes while the board proposed a 15 percent raise an hour accepted by other unions.
