Prof Elvin F Donaldson of Ohio State University College of Commerce authored Business Organization and Procedure to be adopted as a summer term textbook. A Logan native nicknamed Perk, he earned bachelor and master degrees at OSU in 1925 and 1927 and a 1933 doctorate after studies at Chicago and Columbia. He previously served as assistant director of the university band from 1923 to 1929.

Logan City police monitored violators of the new two hour parking limit Saturday and found only two. No tickets were issued as authorities allow motorists a grace period to learn the ordinance. Limited parking signs were not yet delivered. Drivers tested the rule by right turns on red, some feeling guilty, others unaware of the change.

Cousins Hurt When Motorcycle Crashes Near Logan
Two people were injured on Route 75 south of Logan when a motorcycle hit a car on a sharp curve near the Sol Ellinger farm. Paul Milar 24 suffered a broken leg brain concussion and head lacerations Edna Smith cousin had a cut knee. Milar from Kissimmee Fla was visiting at the Smith home. Deputy Nellis Smith said Ralph Wadsworth of Logan RFC pulled off to avoid the motorcycle. Milar was taken to Cherrington Hospital after the 7 AM crash.

Fire truck driver jailed on reckless driving charge
Thomas Karkalla, 26, Shannon Pa, arrested early today by city police for speeding in a new fire truck on Main Street. He was delivered to the Valencia volunteer fire department while awaiting arraignment before Mayor Dallas Kinser. The truck had been driven from Anderson Ind to Valencia Pa.

In Columbus on June 27 AP reports 20 year old Tom Williams Negro will die tonight in Ohio Penitentiary under a new electric chair setup. The auto chair, moved to the prison chapel, is controlled by three guards pulling switches. The sequence holds 1950 volts for 10 seconds then 500 volts for 40 seconds, then 1950 volts for 10 seconds before shutoff, replacing the former manual control.

Troopers Kill Kidnap Gunman Near Deselm
Illinois officers killed one kidnap gunman in a cornfield near Deselm after a 20 minute gun battle. WPA To Furnish Hired Hands To Ohio Farmers
WPA laborers in Ohio will be sent to farms as hired hands under a state wide plan.
