Sloan Feared Retribution Over Watergate Testimony
Former Nixon campaign treasurer Hugh W. Sloan Jr testified he feared administration retribution for truth about Watergate wiretapping but was assured it would not occur. He recounted a Haldeman meeting and a Magruder appointment, and said Stans was not involved in illegal activities. Also, a first House debate on impeachment lasted six minutes before a quorum gap halted McCloskey’s speech.
