An enviable three year attendance record at Logan schools ended Friday when Miss Evelyn Johnson and her father Judd Johnson visited Logan for Christmas shopping. He distributed a large sack of Grimes Golden apples to Court House employees on the third floor. the fruit came from his farms.

Toledo Hunger Check Planned

CIO leaders will visit poor families in Toledo to prove actual hunger this Christmas in an industrial city that removed employables from relief rolls last fall and now restores aid on a need basis. Clarence A. Benedict says the city cannot feed employable childless adults while Louis Didasse cites severe food shortages and plans to film needy families for church groups and lawmakers. Relief workers estimate at least 3,000 could receive no city aid under the $100,000 monthly program and rely on private or small rations of federal aid.

Air Corps pilot and passenger hurt in crash at Indianapolis

An army plane crash at Indianapolis municipal airport left Capt. Frank Irwin seriously injured with a possible skull fracture and his passenger H. W. Kellhofer bruised. Irwin, 37, from Bowen Field Washington D C, was hospitalized at Methodist Hospital. Kellhofer, about 30 from Dayton Ohio, sustained minor injuries.
