Three Men Arrested In Bank Robbery Probe
Three men tied to a December 6 armed robbery of a Hammond Indiana bank were ordered held without bond in Chattanooga Tennessee awaiting a removal hearing. Suspects are Thomas Patrick 23 Salyersville Kentucky John Marehrom 25 Viola Tennessee and Carl Smith Jr 31 Boston Massachusetts. Patrick and Marehrom were captured near Pelham Tennessee with 11900 in cash. Smith was arrested at a McMinnville Tennessee restaurant.

Four Mansfield Union Men Sent To Jail
Four CIO International Union of Electrical Workers members from Mansfield were jailed for 10 days and fined 150 dollars each for malicious destruction of property and disorderly conduct after bricks were thrown at homes of two workers returning to work at the strikebound Westinghouse plant in Columbus. The four men are Christ Almantoeff, 25, Charles A. Edmonston, 25, Arthur B. Fife, 24, and Ray Davis, 48, all of Mansfield. Local 746 president Charles Clark convened a Monday meeting at 9 am at an outdoor theater and invited Plant Manager E. L. Smith to attend. A union spokesman said Smith would be allowed to speak if present. Local 746 also urged company deduction of union dues from workers’ pay at the Columbus plant.
