George Studenroth of Warwick is serving as a juror in Common Pleas court at Lancaster this week. The item lists community notices including deaths in Akron, upcoming sales, suppers, and local happenings across Warwick and Lancaster areas.
A large Fourth of July Spring Committee meeting approved a parade by the Knights of the Golden Eagles and formed a five member organizing group. They urged local business support and announced additional events on the Spring grounds including band performances, prize drills, and baseball.

Andrew P Hartman aged 50 died at his sister Lizzie Hubers house on East Front Street Warwick after two years of paralysis and a recent stroke. He was a Lancaster County clerk, never married, survived by three sisters and a brother, with funeral services at his house then Mellingers meeting house. Elizabeth Bentz aged 66 died in Lebanon after nine months illness, native of Elizabeth township. Survived by six siblings including Samuel Blantz and Addison Blantz. burial at White Oak after service led by Rev J W Bitter.
A Saturday accident at the new Lutheran church corner S Broad and Orange streets saw a two ton iron arch topple from the wall. Workers escaped harm as scaffolding splinters flew and the wall was slightly damaged. The arch was reset along with two similar girders, drawing onlookers to the precarious, high stare of the repair.
John K. Gable, formerly Pittsboro Dispatch city editor and son of Lititz Postmaster, launches a Johnstown Republican evening paper. The Blue Ribbon Club hosted a October 12 banquet at Springs Hotel with Lancaster guests, 17 at table, catered by Chas. H. Brobst. Notable wit Holtzhouse Althouse and Eckert kept the event lively. Menu included celery olives soup roast, peas, potatoes, chicken salad, ice cream and cake.
A parade of social visits fills a Lititz page as residents travel to Lebanon Reading Robesonia Philadelphia and Philadelphia area towns. Notables include Mr Harvey Lengle Mrs H M Yeagley Miss Ella Ball and Mr Geo Smith among others attending family or friend gatherings across Lancaster County and beyond. Georgetown entries note a Spokane visitor and local attendance at events including a baseball game and a Philadelphia mint outing.
The Topton Lutheran Orphans Home organized a Gettysburg battlefield excursion via P. and R. railroad on Saturday. Sixty three people boarded the special train here, and the weather was ideal for the outing.
A different kind of party was hosted by the Young Ladies Sewing Circle in Lititz. Guests followed a shell invitation trail to a sequence of homes for courses and games, receiving souvenirs at the final stop. The event featured a list of attendees led by Janet Fuch and Esther Buch, with festive humor and community spirit. A Ben Greet Shakespeare tour was announced for Linden Hall gymnasium next Friday, with ticket tiers from 35 to 1 dollar. Today marks H W Stark’s ninety first birthday, a Lititz elder active in community life who recently voted in the Republican primary.
John Parris and four Wilmington men trim walnut logs at the railroad freight yards. About thirty fine logs are ready with a similar number awaiting arrival. After trimming, the logs will be shipped to Hamburg Germany for furniture and related uses. Parris annually exports thousands of feet of logs to Europe.
Real estate transfers include Hershey and Gibble selling a two story frame store and dwelling at North Broad and Orange Streets to Jacob Felker on private terms. Hershey Seaman Co. sold Water Street lot to B F Lutz for 200 dollars. Henry Nies sold Willow Street dwelling to Reuben Kouser for 1875 dollars. James Engle sold Water Street dwelling to Jere Adams. Mary Greenly estate sold Owl Hill property in Warwick to Ella Berkenbine for 1205 dollars. Dosters advertises rugs.
