Woman Accused of Beating Child Sentenced and Separated
A Lancaster court heard details of a five year old boy with extensive bruising and a swollen head from repeated beatings by his stepmother Mrs Walter Schupy living on East Front Street. Officer Singley Dr S R Posey special officer Frank McGrann and Alderman Doebler conducted the case. The woman confessed after stern questioning and was fined with costs waived. The child was placed in Neffsville Home and the husband offered no comment. The family hailed from Ephrata Schoeneck now in Lancaster.

Lititz Airship Sighting Involves Local Aviators
Lititz aviator Ralph Haines and Ivan Behmer, both of Lititz, chased the ZR-1 near West Chester, circling within 75 feet as it passed north. Haines now in Philadelphia assembling two planes for Behmer Air Service, part of Lititz Fire Company's broader plans for a large firemen parade at Reading with 95 marchers led by Hanover band, and a surplus uniform issue noting the 270 pound wearer.

Monster air ship ZR-1 sighted over Lititz by locals
The ZR-1, Uncle Sam’s largest air leviathan, was visible at 10:30 am as it passed north on the William Penn Highway from Lakehurst to St. Louis. The 686 foot long craft carried 9 officers and 22 petty officers and used helium gas from Texas and Kansas for buoyancy.

The 79 acre Owl Hill farm with house and barn brought 5735 dollars, an acre tract with house sold, a one and a half story frame house on South Cedar street went to Harry Weidman for 2510 dollars, and a two and a half story frame house with tobacco shed and ground sold to Joshua Rollman for 2690 dollars.
