Lititz Firemen Parade At Reading Impresses Crowd
Lititz fire company marched 108 squares about 13 miles to join the Reading parade. Hanover band with 38 musicians accompanied the Lititz group as 90 uniformed firemen took a dominant eight abreast. The outing drew praise from spectators and press, with Lititz hailed for its smart blue and white uniforms and disciplined drill. Reading marked its 175th anniversary with a four hour parade, seen by an estimated 30 000 in line and many more along the routes.

Moravian ministers meet in Lititz parish house
The Moravian Ministerial Association of Central Pennsylvania held its quarterly session in Lititz with delegates from Lancaster York Graham Lebanon Reading and Lititz. Owl Hill Bootlegger Arrest At York Fair Grounds
W J Bentz of Owl Hill was arrested on the York fair grounds as deputies seized a partly loaded whiskey truck and empty cases. Bentz, under observation, is accused of illegal liquor transport and sale. He ran an ice cream wagon in summer and sold waffles and drinks at fairs in fall, claiming over $1000 in one Reading fair day.

Civil War Veterans Meet in Lancaster Reunion of Seventy-ninth Division
Twenty older veterans of the Seventy-ninth Division Pennsylvania Volunteers gathered in Lancaster for a reunion on Monday. Notable attendees included John Carpenter of Lititz and Jacob Kittle of Lexington. The regiment was mustered in Pittsburgh on September 2, 1861 and mustered out in Lancaster on July 9, 1865. Except for one Company D from Allegheny, the unit consisted entirely of Lancaster men across ten companies with 110 members each.

Lititz Fire Company responded to an Akron alarm early Monday as the Noli Warehouse burned to the ground. Twenty three automobiles stored inside were lost while other fire crews worked to guard adjacent properties amid the rapid blaze.
