In Lancaster last week Fianna D. Kauffman and Daniel G. Kauffman won a verdict after four hours of deliberation. Mrs Kauffman received 8000 dollars for injuries including the loss of her leg, and her husband 1000 for the loss of his wife's services following an accident at the Lancaster Chemical Company plant near Lancaster. The daughter Eliza beth Hostetter was killed. The award is not satisfactory to the parties and a new trial will be sought.
