Lititz High School Placed on Honor List
Lititz High School, by unanimous vote of the Committee on Secondary Schools, joins the Accredited Secondary Schools list of the Middle States and Maryland Association. The designation raises its college admission standing and signals state rating changes. The Lititz High Band has expanded to 65 members with 15 new instruments and will perform for various local events. The Girls' Glee Club delivered a strong concert and may repeat at Rossmere Sanatorium. Senior honor students are Ruth Marble and Hazel Mathers, with several others honored.

Lititz Folk Chorus Performs at Masonic Home Concert
Lititz Community Male Chorus directed by Victor Wagner with about 40 voices sang at the Masonic Home on Sunday afternoon. The main concert occurred in the Grand Lodge reception hall with accompanist Earl B Landis. The group also performed during regular services in the John S Sell memorial chapel before about 265 attendees from Manheim and Lititz, under Manheim Lodge No 587.

Burkholders Threaten Counter Suit Over Bulk Sales Act

Elam Bucher and sister, formerly of this place, operate a fifty acre farm near Kleinfeltersville, Lebanon County. Once a show place, it declined until the Lititz group moved in. Land is sandstone soil, level and workable with a large meadow. Plans include geese and eggs, turkey raising, six grafted oxheart fruit trees, six cows, and White Leghorn chickens. George and Harry Stover of Lititz were arrested on a charge of stealing sixty to seventy chickens valued at $125 from Frank H. Shaub in Elizabeth township. The case was investigated by County Detective C. A. Forrest and Constable H. R. Steigerwalt leading to an Alderman Burkhart hearing.

The State Game Commission announced broad revisions to open seasons for deer bear small game and birds to curtail overpopulation. A key rule bans killing male deer with visible antlers during the 1928 season with a 100 fine. antlerless deer of fifty pounds or more may be hunted December 1 to 15. Bear season runs November 1 to December 15 three days weekly and six days December 1 to 15. Tourists Camp Latest Thing for Lexington
Miss Habecker recently bought a small farm at Lexington and has workers painting and improving the property. Blue shutters and a blue striped barn will stand by a shady lawn with tables, camping site, and rooms for the night. An orchard of apple, cherry, peach and other fruit trees will supply fruit for a stand serving passing tourists. Within six years a good State road is planned from Lancaster to Brickerville, linking Lebanon by a short route.

Animal Trap Co Award Jury Chooses Best Pelt Prize

Beaver Dam In Blue Mountains Observed By Lititz Group
A Sunday trip by Lititz men and F M College professor Dr H J Roddy led a party to a beaver colony in the Blue Mountains forty miles from Lancaster. They found a five acre dam in a swamp with beaver houses seen though no beavers were present. The dam breast and mud plastering impressed the observers after a strenuous ascent.

Farmers report tobacco planted in beds is making poor progress due to unseasonable weather. Some beds left unprotected were frozen out, delaying the start of tobacco planting.
Raids Hit Two Rothsville Inns Saturday Night
County Detective A. Forrest and three State Policemen from Manheim raided Harlacher's Restaurant and the Rothsville Hotel at 9 30 PM Saturday. Proprietors Leroy Sarlacher and Obrian Miller were jailed in $300 bail each for hearings before Alderman David N. Trapnell. A small quantity of liquor was seized at Harlacher's and a high test beer at Miller's.
