Sunday hike by the Boy Scouts to Snyder's Woods is noted with other Lititz items. Picnic set for Thursday July 19. local births and birthdays celebrated. Community updates include business moves, hospital care, repairs, and upcoming events at clubs and schools.
Four men Ira Bucher P B Bucher Menno Brubaker and J Frank Buch took an auto trip from Lititz to Chestertown Kent County Maryland about 125 miles south to study local roads fisheries farms and the Washington College campus guided by Prof F G Livingood.

Erb whose farm near Erb s church in Penntownship tenanted by Adan Long sold his stable of 14 fat cattle to L D Himmelberger last week. Average weight rose from 930 pounds last October to 1431 pounds at sale an average gain of 501 pounds. Price not stated but a check arrived indicating a return slightly over 13 cents per pound.
Thirty one students will receive diplomas at Lititz High School with Ruth Marble Hazel Mathers among honor recipients. Officers are Robert Longenecker president Kenneth Corbett vice president Helen Eby secretary Ruth Marble treasurer. class motto Tabor Omnia Labore. Commencement events run May 27 through May 31 with programs including class day exercises alumni meeting and banquet.
The Lititz Band announces officers led by President William Neidermeyer and leader Harry Keppel. About twenty two to twenty five musicians planned, with Secretary Theodore Huber and Treasurer Wilson Gibbel. Applications for engagements are received daily.

A novice narrator details the nerve wracking drive to obtain an operator's license. After an initial failed exam for the emergency brake and a subsequent success, the driver earns the license and feels proudly independent and in control of the car.
John Singer retires after twenty four years and five months on rural mail routes. He covered about 238000 miles, shifted from horse and buggy to five Fords, and note changes in route length from twenty four to thirty three miles. Patrons bid him farewell as he plans rest at home.
Oscar Grube narrowly survives a Holstein attack on the former Nathan Snyder farm near Lititz last Friday. Paul Hershey, his employer, wrestled the bull away as Grube suffered several fractured ribs after being toppled and gored. The dehorned animal, raised on the farm, had shown recent aggression and was sold to a butcher immediately.
Miss Sarah Stormfeltz was operated upon at Lancaster General Hospital yesterday. Hiram Holtzhouse returned home from Presbyterian Hospital after eye surgery with expectations of improved vision. Mrs William Miksch underwent surgery at Lancaster General Hospital on Monday.
Mrs. Mary L. Steiner hosted sisters and sister in law for a weekend family dinner. Guests included Mrs. R. F. Grantham of Scottdale, Mr. and Mrs. George Sweigart and daughter Olive of Harrisburg, and Mrs. Lydia Moyer of Philadelphia.
Dorothy Habecker entertained guests from Lutta at a bridge gathering on Saturday. Attendees included Mary Longenecker, Mary Eby, Grace Moyer, Mrs. Frank Longenecker, and Mrs. Charles Straley.
Herman Schoning of Montevideo Minnesota wins a $1000 prize in a joint United States and Canada fur cooperation contest. Editors of four outdoors magazines judged the final selection after nationwide preliminary screening of thousands of pelts. The winning mink was a No 1 Newhouse trap catch from Montevideo, skinning drying and stretching skill cited as key to victory.
