Fifteen Lititz Fire Company members including officers attended the county firemen meeting in Bareville. A new fire hall with a chemical engine cost 14000 dollars and impressed visitors. On the way home Ralph Walters’s car bumped Jacob Myers’s vehicle at Rothsville. both cars had minor damage. Attendees listed include Monroe Phillippi Arthur Reist W H Sturgis Clarence Regennas Emory Wagner Ellis Butzer Oliver Reed John Carpenter Harry McCreery Ephraim Herr Lester Rank and Garvin Rank Slight. Fire at Burkholder’s Saturday. A gas heater in the Burkholder restaurant cellar started woodwork on fire and caused heavy smoke. The blaze was controlled with a hose from the garage and Lititz fire company was dispatched but not needed.

Plea to Protect Yellow Lady's Slipper Promoted at Lititz High

Lititz Passes Building Ordinance and School Board Appointments
Lititz council approved final reading of a building ordinance governing new construction and redevelopment in the borough. The lot of bills and salaries for borough operations were ordered paid. Lititz School Board announced appointments for the staff with Maurice C. Demmy as Supervising Principal and Arthur H. Zimmerman as Principal and Historian, among others. A Lamprey eel was caught in the Susquehanna, described as a three foot, jawless fish with seven gill openings. The Senior Class Play, Patty Makes Things Hum, is set for May 3 at Lititz High School with a 25 cent general admission and 35 cent reserved seats.

Visit by Ku Klux Klan in Pensacola and Atmore
The Ku Klux Klan twice visited churches in Pensacola Florida and Atmore Alabama with singing led by H C Reedy of Lititz. Evangelist Horn received a $25 contribution and prayers were offered. The Atmore congregation welcomed the visitors as attendance increased with people turned away. Reedy and Horn also visited public schools for devotional services. The reporter notes local agriculture and mills in Atmore, including citrus, cotton, potatoes, oats, vegetables, pure bred Jersey cows, lumber mills, oranges selling for 15 to 18 cents a dozen, and turpentine production. Expect to return to Atmore after southern engagements.

Old Lititz House Being Demolished
An 1782 log building west of N. D. Sturgis' pretzel bakery is being torn down. It was built by Leonhard Schoenlein from Germany and later housed multiple owners, with ties to Lititz history and Moravian burial sites. Five autos of Lititz residents visited Camden, N. J., for Sunday services after departing at 4 15 a. m. The trip reached Camden by 9 15 a. m. with no accidents.
