Death of Monroe Meily at Lititz aged 41
Monroe M Meiley died at his Lincoln Avenue home after a lingering illness aged 41. Born in Brunnerville he lived many years in Lititz and worked as a cigarmaker and foreman at a local factory until several months ago. He is survived by his wife Catherine Fry a daughter Esta a granddaughter Gladys Hacker his mother Mrs Mary Meily of Brunnerville and brothers Amos Meily Alice Young and Mrs Jacob Singley of Lititz. Funeral services Sunday at 1 80 P M at the house and 2 P M at St Pauls Lutheran Church Machpelah cemetery interment.

J M Hoffman of South Cedar Street reports a rattlesnake plant in his yard in bloom reaching four and a half feet with a tongue like bloom. The tropical plant dies back in fall and its large bulb is kept in the cellar. it has not bloomed for eight years until now.

A party from Lititz left for Fortesque last Saturday returning the next day with a fine catch of fish. James Goldthwait Jacob Bachman and son William Roth Harry Kauffman Charles Ringer and others in one auto caught a hundred fish. Chester Ritchie Chester Ruth Elwood Shoemaker William Mathers and Arthur Kiing in another car started late Saturday night and reached the grounds at 10 the next morning. They caught seventy fish mostly weak fish and croakers. The fish bit lively.
