Heavy Autos Collide Near Rome on Lititz Road
Two heavy autos collided on the Lititz and Rothsville road near old Rome mill on a Saturday morning. Lloyd Buechter of Kissel Hill drove a Nash two door sedan toward Rothsville and was pushed off the road, knocking over a post, then dropping into the Lititz creek without being upset. William Peacock of Lititz drove a Studebaker toward Lititz. his car hit a tree. Both cars were badly damaged but repairable and towed to Merley’s garage. The Nash was hauled from the creek. glass remained intact. Buechter exonerated the Lititz man from blame, stating he did not see the approaching car.

Truck Rams Porch in West Orange Street Crash
A truck driven by Albert Fisher of Lancaster, for Ideal Milk Product Co, lost control crossing a gutter on West Orange Street and rammed into Norman Brubaker’s porch Friday afternoon. Brubaker stood by as the vehicle was halted by a cement coping. Officer Kreider said brake failure left the car in unsafe condition and not fit for the road. accident reported to Harrisburg.

A Lititz group spent a week fishing in Oxford Maryland catching about thirty seven fish and an eel. The 125 mile trip featured pleasant scenery and flowers. Man Almost Dies in New Holland Jail Fire Tragedy
John Christ narrowly escaped suffocation after a prisoner in the New Holland jail set fire to a blanket on Saturday night. The inmate, Charles Diller, 51, was jailed for disturbing the borough. Lititz Fire Co Wins Prize at New Holland Parade
The Lititz Fire Company won first prize for the largest number in uniform at New Holland's firemen parade held during the county convention and 200th anniversary celebration. Two 83 Year Olds Lead New Holland Parade

George Hackman 83, Civil War veteran, marched the entire route with Lititz Dire Company and plans to parade with Lititz at Hershey.
