John Amer, 67, of Lancaster died at home after a three week illness of dropsy. He leaves a large family including wife nee Buck and children in Lititz Lodis Valley Neffsville Kissel Hill and Lancaster. Funeral services are planned Saturday at 9 00 am at his home and St Pauls Lutheran Lititz with interment Machpelah Cemetery.

Woman Severely Burned in Oil Can Explosion Near Lititz
Mrs. Rufus Dennis nineteen thirty five living on the Sheaffer Brubaker farm northwest of Lititz was badly burned Saturday evening when a coal oil can exploded while she held a burning match over a stove. She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital the next day in serious condition. A neighbor Ms Miriam Groff helped extinguish the flames by wrapping her in carpet. Dr D C Martin of Lititz attended the case and reported partial body burns with some chance of recovery.

Former Sailor Chooses Lititz as Home After Navy Career
Thomas Burk 22, recently discharged from seven years in the U S navy, visited Lititz and decided to settle there. He crossed the Atlantic twenty times, served on a minesweeper, survived a mine explosion, and later guided Oliver Reed to see a Lititz boat. Burk has no home as his parents are deceased.
