Large transformers placed in the electric light plant. A mail at 646 N. Matson St Pa held for address. Local market offers vegetables fruits nuts Saturdays mornings to 3 PM. Thanksgiving events and upcoming Christmas holiday noted with local sightings and family dinners.
J C Seaber will resign around January 1st after ten years as Lititz postmaster. Albert T Litch, longtime applicant and former assistant sergeant at arms at the State Capitol, is slated as his successor with the post office valued at $2000 yearly.
Miss Cassie Engle daughter of William Engle was surprised at her Orange Street Warwick home by about 75 friends for her 23rd birthday. A fine luncheon accompanied the gifts and merriment. Nearly sixty of Harry Grazer's friends gathered at his East Main Street home for a 24th birthday surprise with luncheon and enjoyment.
The Habecker couple near Eric's meeting house welcomed triplets on Friday August 4. The four month old trio weigh a combined 825 pounds with Wayne at 113 pounds Dora 10 and Arthur 11. They are fed malted milk and Dr J L Hertz received a jar of Horlicks as thanks. The town has seen many visitors and gift offerings, as Mrs Habecker sells baby cards to help support the family. She plans another visit to Lititz soon.
Hettie Frey wife of Jacob M Frey died at 2 30 this morning at her home just east of the borough after a three weeks illness of pneumonia aged 64 years 4 months 18 days She was born at Rothaville daughter of the late William Gable Survived by husband Monroe Clayton Zeno and Katie Meily children a brother John Gable and two sisters Mrs Susan Hichelberger and Elizabeth Whitcraft Funeral services will be held Sunday at 9 at the house and 10 at Millport with Rev J A Heitler presiding.
Mrs. Matilda Liphart widow of Michael Liphart died at the United Zion Home north of the borough on Sunday morning from paralysis. She had lived at the home about five years and been an invalid twelve years. A native of York County she previously resided in Columbia. Survived by daughter Mrs. Charles F. Haughman of Lancaster and a son Paris in the West. Remains taken to Lancaster for burial. Funeral held Wednesday with interment in Bethel cemetery, Columbia.
William H. Roy a Lancaster resident died Monday afternoon at his home after months of failing health. The cause was sclerosis of the spinal cord. Born January 30 1847 he long ran a book binding business retiring in 1896. Survived by wife Susan E Roy son William Z Roy and daughter Lillian M Roy at home.
Martin S. Gross longtime Ephrata resident died at his home on Friday from dropsy at age 8 years 4 months 5 days. Born near Lincoln on the Gross homestead he led an active life running the Ephrata hotel and Clay township farming later operating the Clay hotel for 15 years. He retired 16 years ago and survived by three children George W. Gross Jr. of Ephrata and others. wife predeceased him about 13 years ago.
A large crowd watched a wild deer escape after being set free near Clay on Thanksgiving Day. Pursuers on horseback failed to recapture the animal, which was tracked across fields and streams by Witman until seized by the horns near Brubaker. He was secured, eyes tied, and taken to the Bomberger barn for care. The deer was supplied by John Witmer of Nettsville, who had captured it previously.
Lititz now has vaudeville performers led by Ellis Butzer Lewis Haines Vermont Meily and Leroy Hacker who appeared before the foot lights at Stoners moving picture show in a sketch named Me Him and. A large crowd applauded their debut, praised team work by Butzer known as Babe and Haines as Dewey, and noted their rehearsals at a local pretzel bakery. The four have out of town engagements ahead and are compared to Lew Field starting small.
Mr W Puritan Kesel, head salesman for Puritan Pure Food Co of New York, stayed with R O Melzer and family from Saturday to Monday. His Middle West trip for the firm was highly successful and he singled out Lititz as one of the most interesting towns he has visited. He spoke warmly of the people and hoped to be counted among them. On return he visited Washington DC before resuming his trip home to New York.

C William Grosh, a carriage maker, fell from a Broad street trolley last Saturday evening after arguing with the conductor over fare. He was found unconscious, treated for a bruised head and left forearm, and later walked home aided by two men. A gold ring on his finger was split, indicating the impact.
The Lititz Fire company will stage an old fashioned entertainment at Linden Hall gymnas ium on Saturday January 20 featuring a spelling bee, orchestral music, dialogues and speeches. Admission will be inexpensive and an overflow audience is anticipated. Further details will follow.
The Farmers Creamery plant near the starch plant was sold at public sale last Saturday to Nathan K. Buch for 910 dollars. The future of the creamery remains undecided.
Four Lancaster youths left a local restaurant on Saturday evening and an oyster fork vanished. The proprietor detained the group before they could board the trolley. Three later returned the fork and explained one member collected oyster forks as souvenirs, having eight already.
The degree team of Court, Lititz Forestry of America, and other order members head to Lancaster for a boom session and street parade. WCTU meets Monday evening December 11 at 7 30 with a Purity topic. Odd Fellows host an oyster supper next Monday after the session. Moravian Sewing Society to sell sewing, cakes, and candies Saturday in the Derr building. Fifteen townsmen attended the annual Masonic banquet at Manheim Monday.
Mr and Mrs William Groh hosted a turkey dinner Wednesday at their Speedwell farms mansion in Elizabeth township for guests from Lebanon Manheim Lititz and other areas. Attendees included Mr and Mrs W H Muth and Dr and Mrs D A Long of Lititz. George C Miller advertised toy lines and fishing supplies on New Street Warwick urging customers to call and see his largest assortment yet.
