Fire alarm spoils Henry driver’s dash to blaze

Roy K. Miller of Lititz, a member of Company B, 50th Infantry, has been wounded in action after going over the top in France. A Catholic chaplain's letter to his mother says he is in U S Base Hospital No 18 resting and has seen active service beyond cooking. Miller survived the sinking of the Moldavia off Ireland on May 4% and is one of many Lititz boys serving overseas.

Corporal Breitigan Dies for Democracy in France
The War Department reports Corporal Abram H. Breitigan of Fairland Penn township died of wounds in France on July 24 after serving in Co K and later Co B 149th Machine Gun Battalion. He arrived in France April 12 and joined his front line unit soon after. The town learned of his sacrifice from a telegram to his brother James H. Breitigan and later a chaplain's letter confirmed burial with military honors. His family and community express deep sorrow and pride in his service.
