Auprey Caught At Zartraan Dam Near Lexington
A fisherman near Lexington Tuesday caught a large auprey along with two carp in its possession. The protected bird was released after displaying it to Prof. H. H. Beck. Also reported are a Navy illustration event at Linden Hall gymnasium and local scout camp activities at Camp Chiquetan with frequent lake swimming and meals.

Second Ward Pig Farmer Uses Electric Fan
A Second Ward resident worried hot weather would cut pork weight. He placed an electric fan in the pig sty, cooling five pigs. Heat killed many animals in the locality, making the fan idea seem prescient.

Funeral of Samuel Feltz in Moravian Church
Funeral services for Samuel Feltz of Lancaster formerly of Lititz were held last Saturday in the local Moravian church. Rev E S Crosland and Rev Charles Nagle officiated. Feltz praised for mercy and charitable life. interment in Moravian God's Acre. Pallbearers were nephews Harry and Edward Flory of Lancaster and Clem en Badorf and Amos Burkholder of Lititz.

First Moravian C E Union Convenes in Lititz Next Week
The 24th annual convention of the First Moravian Christian Endeavor Union of the Eastern District will be held in Lititz from Wednesday to Friday with about 100 delegates expected. State Secretary H B Macrory and Prof. John Burkhart will participate, and evening events feature a Moravian U S orchestra recital and an organ choir closing program. A memorial service for Elam B Palm drew about 1,000 attendees at Emanuel Lutheran Church Brickerville, with a gold star service flag unveiled in Palm's memory.

Pickpocket Incident Strands Sturgis Couple After Ohio Trip
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar A. Sturgis returned from Ohio to find his wallet stolen on a crowded train between Elyria and Sandusky. He grabbed a thief's hand, but the pickpocket escaped. A telegram to the next station yielded no arrests. Sturgis later learned of a known group of pickpockets operating in the area. He canceled Niagara Falls tickets and had a check cashed to return home. Also noted: Boy Scouts placed fly traps downtown, and the Lexington Union Sunday School outing to Long's Park with about 100 attendees, rain, auto trip, basket lunch, and prizes. New W.B. corsets arrived at Dissinger's.

She had long illness confined to her room six years. She leaves six surviving children and a brother. Funeral held Saturday in Trinity United Evangelical church with Moravian burial.
