Stolen Canoe Recovered After Outing along Conestoga
During spring an outing at Lititz Bungalow along the Conestoga saw two youths in a canoe that proved to be the property of Charles Pfautz and Christian Snavely. Policeman Kreider Arrested Auto Thief In Town
Policeman Clarence Kreider nabbed Albert McDonald, a 26 year old auto thief, in town Monday after the Dodge roadster was stolen at Pottstown at 5 A M and recovered here at 6 P M. McDonald, previously jailed in Lancaster, confessed and said he had no control over himself. Pottstown officials and the car owner, a State Highway Department worker, departed for Tititz to recover the vehicle.

Charles Brown age 20 from Philadelphia, a member of Headquarters Battery, 108th Field Artillery, was severely injured in a motor vehicle accident on Brickerville Hill. He lost control while descending between Brickerville and Clay, the truck hit an embankment, and he was crushed between the truck and a tree. His right foot was amputated and he is in Lancaster General Hospital in fair condition.
