Alumni Spelling Bee At Lititz High School Features Varied Program
The Lititz High School Alumni spelling bee will be held next Thursday evening April 26 in the high school auditorium. It includes two spelling classes and one general information class with three prizes in each. Dr George D Knight of Elizabeth town College will teach the general class and Prof H H Beck of Franklin and Marshall College will lead the advanced class. The 7 39 program includes vocal and orchestra selections and dialogues. A long list of community helpers assists in presenting the program.

The Noy Shoe Company moves one production line from Lititz to Ephrata with another line continuing at Lititz. Duplicate machinery is moved to Ephrata to cut costs. Some Lititz workers will be displaced but offered positions at Ephrata. The Lititz plant will not be closed.

Boy Dislocates Shoulder After Fall in Public Yard
Grant Buchter of Front Street, son of Charles Buchter, dislocated his right shoulder and fractured a small bone when he fell in the public school yard on Tuesday. An X ray at Lancaster confirmed the injury and the shoulder was bandaged afterward.

Private trout fishing spot near Moseleim Springs
Dr D A Long visited Moseleim Springs in Berks County to fish a private trout dam on three acres fed by many springs. A high wire fence with keep out notices surrounds the site though fishing along the stream is allowed. A twenty inch trout was caught last year.

Trout Opening Draws Lititz Anglers in Unseasonable Weather
A small Lititz fishing day sees few trout caught as opening day weather stays unsettled. The county high schools including the local High School will take a three day educational trip to Washington D C at term end. At the Tuesday Chamber meeting in the Fire House the by law measures were approved after J B Wissler read and explained them. The by laws and ways and means committees will form the charter nucleus while Wissler sends the application to the State Department Saturday. A band committee was chosen to arrange summer concerts.
