Seed corn test urges farmers to use quality seed
Lititz Springs National Bank conducted a seed corn test this week with about 600 ears. Four kernels per ear were tested to gauge germination and seed fitness, showing much seed is poor and not fit for planting. A new testing week begins Monday inviting more ears. Lititz gains two undertakers as E B Beck opens at 107 South Broad Street assisted by his wife, while Henry Good of Reamstown rents Witmer's building at North Broad and Lincoln avenues for an upcoming funeral home next month.
