Indiana state police pursue Herbert Hacker a 24 year old Franklin bank teller who fled Indianapolis with 8705 in cash meant for Farmers Trust company. He reportedly changed the money into large denomination bills and disappeared after arranging to meet his wife. a note and $1000 were found at home.
Burton T. Bert Arthur of Sandborn died Wednesday in Hillcrest sanitarium near Vincennes after fifteen months as a patient. He suffered from celliosis and tuberculosis linked to copper dust exposure from Montana mines. Survived by widow Ella Arthur and two sisters Kathrina Pickel Terre Haute and Mrs William Powell Milwaukee. Funeral Friday at 2 pm Sandborn Methodist Church.
Squire Walters a northwest Linton resident lies at death point in Robert Long hospital Indianapolis. He was brought there recently for observation and treatment. Family members remain at his bedside.
Three clusters of cocoanuts grown in Florida on display in the window of Maxwell furniture on South Main street. Claude Maxwell brought the coconuts to Linton after a visit to Miami and home, noting the fruit is a variety common to the southern state rather than a defined species.
Peace talks between the American Federation of Labor and the Congress of Industrial Organizations, due to resume in New York tonight, are postponed to next Tuesday. AFL peace committee head Harry C. Bates must attend John J. Stretch's funeral in Chicago, Stretch of the bricklayers union.
Terre Haute March 30 Employers with wage reports showing errors in employee names or account numbers are urged by the Bureau of Old-Age Insurance to correct discrepancies. The Social Security Board warns that even small name spellings or digit differences delay posting and may throw wage reports from the regular processing stream.
Frank Woodhouse aged 84 a longtime Newberry area farmer died Wednesday at 2 PM in his home. Born October 22 1854 he lived all his life in the community survived by his widow Mollie Barters Woodhouse and four children Martha McIntosh Iva Slinkard Ethel Rollison and John Woodhouse. two daughters Anna Millard and Mamie Barker and an infant son preceded him in death. Funeral at 2 PM Saturday at the family residence with burial in Newberry Cemetery. Sappenfield Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Jesse Pate of Loogootee underwent a major operation this morning. Miss Kathleen Dishman of Bloomfield underwent a major operation Wednesday evening.
Miss Hilda Misch tucked her purse in a newspaper to deter theft. A man rushed her, searched in vain for a purse, then fled after she screamed.
James E. Abrell, 79, retired coal miner, died at 6 50 this morning at 109 D Street NW after a weeklong illness. Born January 31 1860 in Owen County, he lived in Linton fifty years, survived by wife and children, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren. Funeral plans pending. Mrs Eliza N Murdock 69 Paxton dies after paralysis. services Friday at Providence church with Rev Jake Smith and burial in Carlisle IOOF cemetery. She leaves husband Alex R Murdock a daughter Margaret Price and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements for Murdock are at Newkirk Funeral Home Pleasantville.

Eight miles south of Shelbyville he was trapped upside down with little air until Carl Kehrt freed him. Boyle escaped with bruises and a minor hand cut.
