About 250 Moose members from five Indiana lodges will attend a district meeting at Linton hall. Chapters include Green Castle Attica Terre Haute Clinton and Linton. A prominent Terre Haute doctor will headline the afternoon program with refreshments to follow.

A daughter named Beverly Sue was born to Mrs. Clarence Hatcher of Jasonville Friday evening. The baby weighed nine pounds eight ounces. Miss Jane Workman of Bloomfield was taken to her home this afternoon. Mrs. Claude Clark moved to her city residence. Mrs. Carl Roach was taken to her home on East Vincennes Street this afternoon. Mrs. Enos Wonders of Switz City rural route was also taken to her home this afternoon.
Indiana players from Hammond South Bend Fort Wayne Greentown Evansville Indianapolis Richmond Terre Haute Petersburg and Washington plan to enter the state checker tournament starting April 2 in Jasonville. The current Indiana champion who placed third at the national contest will defend the title. Local entries may include Dr Sam Rotman Thurston Price Casgar Harlow Jake Ruth Oscar Price and A J Messick with support from Greene County Recreation. Illinois spectators will attend but not compete.
Washington report says hope for peace between the American Federation of Labor and the Congress of Industrial Organizations grew after a seven hour conference. The two sides recessed until next Thursday while a settlement seemed best since President Roosevelt invited them to resume talks. Chairman Harry C Bates of the AFL peace committee spoke for both groups, noting a sincere desire for an honorable settlement and hard work toward that end.

A new southern Indiana well will be treated with a chlorine base chemical to kill bacteria in the gravel. The engineer said the new well can furnish more water than almost any in the area and that a second well with the first could meet all local water works demands.
The Linton Oilers, Wabash Valley independent champions, meet the Central Normal College All-Stars at Linton-Stockton High School gym next Tuesday at 7 o clock. Oilers feature Arnold Doc Page and others from Greene and surrounding counties. The Danville Central Normal Netters are traveling stars under Jack Kendy and have posted strong results this season. A closely contested game is anticipated with a large crowd expected.
