Harriman accuses Eisenhower aides of breaking unions

New York Governor Averell Harriman charged that Eisenhower appointees are using Taft Hartley to bust unions while addressing the merged CIO and AFL union convention. He singled out Nixon Wilson McKay and Teeter as unfriendly to labor and urged repealing Taft Hartley. Secretary Mitchell urged unity of the two labor bodies and defended wage and social programs.

Truck Strikes Train in Lafayette. Driver Fatally Hurt

Cecil L. Cayce, 49, of Versailles, died when his Silver Fleet semi struck the sixth car of a Wabash Railroad freight train at an unmarked crossing on the U S 52 bypass near the Ind 26 junction. The collision derailed two empty box-cars and blocked the highway for nearly five hours.

Terre Haute Youth Held in Oklahoma

John C. Travis an 18 year old Terre Haute Indian facing charges of car theft and burglary in Chandler Oklahoma. Sheriff W A Moore said Travis is being held for the FBI for allegedly transporting a stolen car across state lines. A Bristow burglary is also linked to the case. Travis was captured near Straut after a companion fled. The stolen car from Brazil Indiana contained tires new clothing and $20 in rolled coins.

Capt. Harnly of NAD Crane says Greene County Coroner Hasler's report that Ronnie Weitkamp died of exposure is official and final. Princeton Slaying jury Almost Set

Princeton Indiana spectators believed Leo Benkert a Hautstadt farmer might be the twelfth juror in the murder trial of Leslie Irvin 31 Evansville. Mrs. Florence McDonald 84 Dies in Jasonville

Mrs. Florence Emma McDonald 84 longtime Jasonville resident died at 10:45 AM in Rogers Nursing Home after four years of ill health. Kidnaper and Baby Hunted in Indiana

FBI agents joined Indiana state and local police in a search for Ruth Marie Hillin 22 and a 13 month old daughter Georgia Carol Waltz. First Turkey Day Program Planned for Thursday in Linton

Stores in Linton will stay open Thursday afternoon and the first Turkey Day program is set for 1 30 p m Thursday announced by the local Retail Merchants association.
