Indiana logged 12 traffic deaths over the weekend with six victims from Gary. The fatalities included Jean Robinson 18 and Ethel Spencer 16 in Hammond and Michael Vargo 33 in LaPorte County. Beverly Jean Davidson an 18 year old IU coed and Hugh G. Smith 27 said two armed men forced entry to the Davidson home on a north side street Saturday night bound them with telephone cord and ransacked rooms seeking money and narcotics but found nothing of value. Smith freed himself and Davidson after the intruders departed.

Oliver Abram 95 a lifelong Greene county resident died at 8 25 am Saturday at his Hendricksville home after a long illness. Born August 19 1860 in Hendricksville he was a son of Charles and Lucinda Abram. He belonged to Liberty Church of Christ. R Hartley Sherwood, 79, prominent Indiana coal operator and founder of several firms, died of a heart attack at his Indianapolis home. Services at Trinity Episcopal Church followed by cremation.
