Austin Taylor of Detroit formerly lived in Linton and died at his son John Tay ton's Weberville home at 11 30 Monday night. A retired coal miner, he lived here until about twenty years ago. His wife died last February. Survived by five children and several siblings. Body being sent to Aikin Funeral Home in Linton with funeral services forthcoming.

In the 1948 Jackson Junior Golf Tournament 14 year old Tony Mitchell won the first flight title by defeating Tim O Neil 6 and 4 in the championship match. State high school rules prevented him from accepting a prize over two dollars, risking ineligibility for a year in high school play. The event was sponsored by the City recreation department. Tony is the grandson of Mrs. Jessie Mitchell of Vicksburg.

Explosion at the Dunn stone quarry near Spencer Indiana yesterday caused damage estimated in the thousands of dollars. One man Donald D. Ellis 24 received minor back injuries. The blast toppled giant boulders damaged machinery destroyed the small main office and blew off a storage room roof. Most workers were away at lunch. Quarry owned by Felix A Dunn and John D Beem.
