Deputies use gas and Mace on Dakota City strikers
Deputies fired tear gas grenades and sprayed Mace at striking Meat Cutters union members at the Iowa Beef Processors plant in Dakota City. A crowd of 200 to 250 harassed non union workers arriving early. Two TV cameramen were sprayed, no serious injuries reported. Plant operations delayed until sunrise and some vehicles were towed.
