Round About Lima: 16-year-old Driver Hits Pole and Power Loss
A 16-year-old driver crashed into a utility pole Saturday night, pushing a parked car into a nearby home. The pole toppled at a sharp angle, electric transformer arced, and a family meal by candlelight followed the outage. The boy escaped serious injury while a 9-year-old boy was knocked to the floor by the electrical surge. Nearby businesses continued with flashlights during the outage. In a separate note, Aaron Spechler, 15, finished a 15-mile race at a Kettering event amid about 80 riders, the best among beginners for his club.
