Round About Lima Guests Welcome Olympian Skier
An excited group from Lima Council and American Youth Hostel greeted Jack Hartman at Valley High Ski Resort Friday night. Hartman, a past Olympics cyclist, has ridden circles around Lima boys in bicycle events, and locals joked he had only skied a few times. Jim Brenneman, Jim Burtchin, and others challenged Hartman on the slopes, who quipped that his skis lack wheels.

Mother of slain Toledo boy to testify in Lucas County Grand Jury
Carolina Montalvo, mother of two year old Eddie Montalvo, is set to appear before the Lucas County Grand Jury as Prosecuting Attorney Harry Fri burg presents the case. Alberto Sanchez, 22, faces a first degree murder charge for allegedly beating the boy to death on November 29 and disposing of the body in Michigan. Authorities are pursuing Sanchez in Mexico.

Roy Debo, World War I and Korea veteran, convicted of first degree murder for the June 29 1965 shooting that killed Kramer H. Bowden near Marion Ohio. Dr. F Stanley Jones told 2,000 clergy at the 47th Ohio Pastors Convocation that fascism Nazism and communism offer no total life answer and only the Kingdom of God can fulfill it. He recalled speaking in postwar Germany and noted Germans sought a unifying life meaning and turned to Nazism. Bishop John J Carberry urged ecumenical cooperation while acknowledging divides remain but rest in God’s providence.
