Fire Sweeps Hotel In Nassau County Village
Fire swept a hotel near the center of a Long Island village in Nassau County. Manager Francis Anderson said the hotel register was destroyed. The blaze was declared under control at 6 15 am. Patrolman Johan Dabrasski said he smelled smoke and saw flames, calling for help and warning guests not to jump as he triggered a fire alarm. Cause was not immediately known.

Fire damages truck and furnace motor in Lima incidents
Firefighters were called at 1:47 p.m. Tuesday to extinguish a blaze that damaged a truck owned by Dale Shelienbarger of 714 Brice in the Central Savings and Loan lot, with damage listed at 50. A second fire reported by Esther Kimes of 624 S Dewey at 12:01 a.m. today caused 30 damage to a burned out furnace motor.
