Heifetz Turns 65 Still Teaching and Performing
Jascha Heifetz, 65, shows no plans to fade away, dividing time between USC teaching and occasional performances. He travels from Beverly Hills to the university for master classes with 8 to 10 students, then hosts weekly chamber sessions. He emphasizes passing on violin mastery, noting the art is perishable and must be taught. He lives alone, divorced since 1963, and rejects large celebrations of his birthday.

DC-3s Once Dominant Fleet Now Faces Change in Service
First Officer Mark Cady and Captain Larry Trapp note the DC-3s performance as other airlines rush to order. By 1938 the DC-3 became standard equipment for major U.S. and many foreign carriers. Some ex passenger planes will be converted to cargo ships while others are sold. Lake Central Turb operations include Convair 2408s and continued use of larger 44 passenger aircraft on heavy-traffic segments.
